Student Information System Details

Access your college information on-line! The Student Information System allows you to view your class schedule, grades, unofficial transcript, financial aid status, and student account. It also allows you to verify your personal information and update your emergency contact information. (Address changes must be made directly with the Registrar's Office).

To Use the Student Information System:

Go to NHTI's home page at www.nhti.edu and click on Site Map and go to “S”. Click on the Student Information System link. If a security box appears, click yes. If using Internet Explorer, it must be at least version 5.50 (128-bit cipher strength). Click on Enter Secure Area.

1. Enter your User ID.
   Your user ID is the 9-digit student ID number generated for you OR your social security number if an ID number hasn't been generated for you.
2. Enter your Personal Identification Number (PIN).
   Your PIN is your 6-digit date of birth (mmddyy) OR the last six (6) digits of your user ID.
   Click Login.
3. Upon initial login, you will receive a message that your PIN has expired and you will be prompted to change your PIN.
   When prompted for OLD PIN, type in your initial six digit date of birth OR the last six digits of your ID #. For NEW PIN, type in a six-digit number (exactly six digits, no letters!). The system does not allow you to reuse your original birth date. Then re-enter that same number again to verify it. Click Login.
4. Set-up Security Question.
   Also on your initial login, you will be prompted to set up a security question. Type in a simple question to which only you know the answer. Type in a one word answer to the question. Please keep the answer free of punctuation, numbers and dates. In the future, if you forget your PIN you can enter your User ID and click on the FORGOT PIN button on the Login Page. You'll be prompted with your security question and then you'll need to enter your EXACT answer. Once answered correctly, this feature will allow you to reset your own PIN.

Please note the following important items about schedules and grades:

• Day schedules are subject to change up until the day classes begin. If you need to change your day schedule you can do so by appointment with your department head.
• Room assignments for evening classes are not available until the day classes begin. Check your schedule on-line or in the lobby of Sweeney Hall the evening of your first class.
• Mid-Semester Warnings and Final Grades are available on-line. Please note that current semester and cumulative Grade Point Averages are not recalculated until the end of August, December, and May.

Unofficial transcripts can be accessed through the SIS, but requests for official transcripts must be made in writing to the Registrar's Office. For further information regarding requesting an official transcript, go to the NHTI homepage www.nhti.edu and select Academic Information, then Transcript Requests.

Viewing/printing your schedule

Log into the Student Information System (see reverse side of sheet)
Click on Student & Financial Aid (view your academic records and financial aid)
Click on Registration (Register for classes, display your class schedule)
Click on Student Schedule by Day & Time
AND
Click on Student Detail Schedule
Scroll to current semester
Start Date (If Monday is holiday, click on next week to get a complete list of all of your classes -- view or print)

Accessing student grades

Click on Student & Financial Aid (view your academic records and financial aid)
Click on Student Records (Display your grades and transcripts, Generate a Degree Evaluation, Review charges and payments, View your holds; Obtain tax information)
Click on Final Grades (Please note that current semester and cumulative grade point averages are not recalculated until the end of each semester, i.e., December, May, August)
Select Term by drop down menu, Click Submit

Accessing student email

Log into the Student Information System (see reverse side of sheet)
Click on Personal Information
Click on View E-Mail Addresses
Click on What is my Default College E-Mail Password?

After viewing your email address and email password

Click on Check My College E-Mail
Enter your email user name (enter only the characters BEFORE the @ in your email address)
Enter your email password

You can quickly access your email through the NHTI website at http://www.nhti.edu and then Click on the Student Email Button.
