Project Running Start / Lead the Way
Project Running Start / Lead the Way is a Concurrent Enrollment Partnership between participating high schools and New Hampshire Technical Institute (NHTI). Faculty and administrators at both the high school and NHTI work together to align curriculum, satisfying both high school and college requirements. Students then have the opportunity to satisfy requirements and earn credit toward high school graduation while earning college credit at NHTI at the same time. Courses are taught by qualified high school faculty during the regular school day and students may register for approved courses through NHTI for $100 tuition, a significant reduction in cost compared to on-campus tuition. This is a terrific opportunity for students to get a "running start" into college, saving time and money and also an opportunity for students undecided about college to try a course. It is a goal of Project Running Start / Lead the Way at NHTI to assist in creating such opportunities for undecided students, with the hope of encouraging students to further explore post-secondary education.
College credit is earned at NHTI, but may be transferred to other institutions. NHTI maintains full accreditation by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges' Commission on Institutions of Higher Education. Transfer credit is generally accepted among accredited schools, however, the acceptance of transfer credit is at the discretion of the institution being asked to accept it. Students having a specific school or program in mind may wish to contact the school or program about transfer credit prior to registering.
