Welcome to the NHTI nursing program website. Nursing is both an exciting and rewarding career offering many options.

Our program is one of the best in the State with graduates consistently scoring well above the national rate on the Registered Nurse Licensing Exam. Graduates from our program are currently working in various settings including intensive care units, emergency rooms, maternity, pediatrics, operating rooms, home care and long-term care throughout the state.

Whether you are a high school student, a graduate with a degree in another discipline or an adult learner wishing to return to school, NHTI can meet your meet your needs. Following graduation you can choose to transfer to a four-year college to further your education. Further education can lead to advanced practice as a nurse practitioner or nurse anesthetist.

Priscilla Anderson, BSN, RN
Assistant Professor of Nursing
Priscilla Anderson is an Assistant Professor of Nursing with a BSN from the University of New Hampshire. She has extensive experience with medical-surgical nursing and occupational health nursing. She started at NHTI as a professional tutor through the Learning Center. She holds membership in the American Nurses Association.

Heidi Compos, MS, ARNP, CWS Heidi Compos, MS, ARNP, CWS
Professor of Nursing
Heidi Compos is a Professor of Nursing with an MS from the University of New Hampshire. She is certified by the American Credentialing Center as a Family Nurse Practitioner and a Clinical Specialist in Home Care. She is certified through the American Academy of Wound Management as a Certified Wound Specialist. Her background includes family practice, community health, wound care and sexually transmitted infections.

Barbara Dunn, MS, MSN, RN
Professor of Nursing
Barbara Dunn is a Professor of Nursing with a MS in Business Management from Lesley College and an MSN from the University of New Hampshire. She has a background in Cardiac/Medical Surgical and Rehabilitation nursing. She holds membership in Sigmna Theta Tau and the National League of Nursing.

Judy Figueroa, A.R.N.P.
Professor of Nursing Judy Figueroa is a Professor of Nursing with a A.D.N. from Lake Sumter College, a B.S. from Plymouth State College and a MS from Rivier College.

Deborah L. Houston, MS, RN, ARNP
Professor of Nursing
Deborah Houston is a Professor of Nursing with a BSN and MS from the University of New Hampshire. She also maintains licensure as an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner.

Patricia Hutchins, MSN, RNC, ARNP
Professor of Nursing
Patricia Hutchins is a Professor of Nursing with a MS in nursing from Boston College. She is an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner and specializes in obstetric-gynecologic nursing.

Pamela Kallmerten, A.R.N.P. Pamela Kallmerten, MS, ARNP
Professor of Nursing Pam came to NHTI in 1997 initially as adjunct faculty and then full time in the fall of 1999. She brings 17 years of nursing experience including many years of nursing education. Currently, she maintains certification and licensure as an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner.

Susan Kenna, MS, ARNP
Susan Kenna is a Professor of Nursing and Coordinator for the LPN Program. Susan graduated with a BSN from Cornell University-New York Hospital School of Nursing, and an MS from Rivier College Graduate School of Nursing. Her background includes family practice, community and public health, geriatrics, infection control, and occupational health. She is a member of the New Hampshire Nurse Practitioner Association and the American Nurses' Association.

Janice Lenehan, RN, MSN Janice Lenehan, RN, MSN
Professor of Nursing
Janice Lenehan is a Professor of Nursing with a MSN from the Boston University. She taught previously at NHTI from 1978-1981. Janice worked in pediatrics at Children's Hospital in Boston prior to coming back to NHTI to teach in 2004.

Judy Maurer, R.N., M.S., M.S.N. Judy Maurer, MS, RN
Professor of Nursing
Judy Maurer is a pediatric nursing instructor with a BS with a major in nursing from SUNY in Plattsburgh, NY and an MSN with a pediatric specialty from the University of Virginia. Clinical and teaching experiences include intensive care units, acute care hospital units, long-term care, and home care. She has a second masters degree in Mental Health Family Development with a marriage and family counseling emphasis.
Sandra McBournie, RN, MEd., Program Coordinator of The Center for Nursing Professional Development
Sandra McBournie, RN, MEd.
Professor, Nursing
Sandra has been a Registered Nurse since 1990 and has a clinical background in a variety of areas, with a concentration in critical and emergency care. She has been involved in nursing education since 2000; previously in staff development and clinical education for LRGHealthcare (Laconia, NH). Currently, Sandra is the Nursing Professional Development Coordinator and Nursing faculty member at NHTI. Sandra has taught as a clinical instructor at NHTI since 2004, and currently works in both the LPN and RN programs. Clinically, she currently works as a per diem staff nurse in the Emergency Room at Speare Memorial Hospital in Plymouth, NH and at the First Aid Room at Loon Mountain Ski Area in Lincoln, NH.

Karen A. Noonan, MS, RN
Professor of Nursing
Karen Noonan is a Professor of Nursing with an MS in Psychiatric Nursing from Boston University.

Shirley Rennie, A.R.N.P. Shirley Rennie, MS, CS, ARNP
Professor of Nursing
After graduating from the NHTI nursing program, Shirley developed an extensive background in pediatrics, working at large regional hospitals in NH and Massachusetts. She later earned a Master’s Degree while developing a Wellness Program for Lockheed Martin Corporation before returning to NHTI as Professor of Nursing and Nurse Practitioner.

Patricia A. Stone, MSN, RN
Professor of Nursing
Patty Stone is a Professor of Nursing with an MSN from Florida Atlantic University.

Linda Tasker, MSN, RN, ARNP
Professor of Nursing
Lynn Tasker is a Professor of Nursing with an MSN from Vanderbilt University. She maintains licensure as an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner.

Karen Lavallee, R.N.C., C.S., M.S. Karen Tetreault, MS, RNC, ARNP
Professor of Nursing
Karen Tetreault is a Professor of Nursing with a MSN from the University of New Hampshire. Her specialties include gerontology and medical-surgical nursing. She is certified by the American Nurses Association Credentialling Center in Medical-Surgical nursing and as a adult nurse practitioner. She holds membership in Sigma Theta Tau and the American Nurses Association.

Maryellen Walker, MSN, RN
Professor of Nursing
Maryellen Walker received her BSN from Seaton Hall University; and her MS from Boston College.
